Best Ranger 2009 Report: Visited Ft Benning from 9-11 May to observe the Nation's finest soldiers compete for Best Ranger, talk with MG Mike Barbero, Col Doug Flohr, LTC Larry Perino and others about Rangers at Eglin and anything we can do to support.  Met with numerous old friends and heroes of mine such as Duke Doubleday, Bud Sydnor, David Grange, and others and thanked all for their service.  Pictures show some activities.  First day was mass buddy run, darby queen, spot jump, buddy run, MG, stress shoot, moving targets;2d day was ranger stakes day stress shoot, tri tower challenge, mystery challenges, night orienteering, sponsor banquet; 3d day was helocast/swim, water confidence test(slide for life), canoe race on the Chattahoochee, 3.1 mile buddy race to finish line and awards banquet.

First 3 pictures show me with 1st Sgt Corey Meyers with his wife and Psgt Vic Birdseye(they were members of CASA Allen Hoe's son Nainoa's platoon when he was KIA in Mosul and along with Mike Slee, who did the documentary, traveled home with Nainoa-Mike does the Best Ranger TV show-these are all super troops and people), MG Mike Barbero with CSMA, and me with Doug Flohr and Duke.  The next six pictures show the 3d day activities as well as some of Mike Slee and his TV crew. The next two pictures show the new Infantry Museum and then me with David Grange who the Competition is named after. The next 2 pictures show the contestant teams as they race to cross the finish line followed by the overall winning team from the 4thRTB crossing the line.

Finally the super supper location being set up for the award banquet!
